Elton John - Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word  (Greatest Hits Volume 2)

(Sorry seems to be (huuuh) the hardest word)

nana na nananana

What do I got to do to make you love me
What do I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightening strikes me
And awake to find that you are not there

What do I got to do to make you want me
What do I got to do to be heard
what do I say when it's all over (baby)
Sorry seems to be the hardest word

chorus:
It's sad (so sad) so sad
It's a sad sad situation
And it's getting more and more absurd
It's sad (so sad) so sad
Why can't we talk it over
Oh, it seems to me
that sorry seems to be the hardest word

What do I do to make you love me
What do I got to do to be heard
What do I do say when it's all over
Sorry seems to be the hardest word

Chorus(with Elton John)

nana na nananana

Sorry

what do I do to make you love me
what do I got to do to be heard
What do I do when lightening strikes me (yeah)
What have I got to do? (2x)

When sorry seems to be the hardest word...

Steve Lukather is a guitar-god for sure! His licks take this song into the stratosphere. Deliciously nasty, same for the back-up vocals. This song would have fit quite nicely into the movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio and Steve Vai's guitar duel at the end of the movie. Thanks for posting this!

I always liked this song. It's too bad he never incorporated it much into his live shows. Some excellent imagery to the lyrics...well done!
